3D carbon fiber-twill weave embossing pattern
The most basic of 3D carbon fiber is embossing on the pvc vinyl film. 3D carbon fiber has a semi gloss semi matte effect, which is the opposite of a glossy appearance. The surface has a three-dimensional effect, and it feels bumpy to the touch. 3D carbon fiber is flexible and stretchable, making it easier to install on curved surfaces. The biggest feature of 3D carbon fiber is easy for first-time DIY installers.

4D carbon fiber vinyl-twill woven pattern high gloss finish
4D carbon fiber has a high gloss effect. However the 4D carbon fiber embossing has a dynamic pattern, the surface is gloss and smooth, it looks more dynamic than 3D carbon fiber. 4D carbon fiber is more soft than 3D carbon fiber, more easy to wrap on the car body.

5D carbon fiber vinyl-based on 3D carbon fiber twill weave pattern with super glossy finish
5D carbon fiber the surface is gloss and smooth. 5D carbon fiber and 3D carbon fiber share the same carbon fiber pattern. However, 5D has an additional gloss layer. The gloss layer gives the vinyl a recognizable gloss appearance. 5D carbon fiber and 6D carbon fiber bring a more realistic look and feel to real carbon fiber. Due to the extra gloss layer, the vinyl is slightly thicker, making it more difficult to apply to round surfaces. It takes some practice and patience to get a perfect installation.

6D carbon fiber-based on 4D carbon fiber twill weave pattern with super glossy finish
6D carbon fiber the surface is super gloss and smooth. The relationship between 6D carbon fiber is the same as the relationship between 4D carbon fiber. They all share the same pattern, but the difference is that 6D carbon fiber with a super glossy transparent layer and the 4D carbon fiber have not.
6D carbon fiber has the same thickness as 5D carbon fiber. Although this looks and feels like real carbon fiber, it does require some practice to get a perfect wrap on the car or motorbike.

Note: 2D 3D and 4D carbon fiber are great for wrapping more difficult surfaces. 5D and 6D carbon fiber are very suitable for hoods or other large surfaces. If that is your business, you can mix and match. Or you can keep it simple and clean and use one type. And don’t forget that when laying vinyl, a heat gun or hair dryer can go a long way in getting a perfect installation.
