Determining the Right Amount of Vinyl Wrap for Your Car

Aug 15, 2024

To determine how much vinyl wrap you need for your car, consider the size and type of your vehicle, as well as whether you’re wrapping the entire car or just specific sections. Here’s a general guide:

1. Compact Cars (e.g., Hatchbacks, Small Sedans)

  • Average Wrap Needed: 50-55 feet (15-17 meters)
  • Wrap Width: Standard wrap rolls are typically 5 feet (1.52 meters) wide.

2. Mid-Sized Cars (e.g., Sedans, Coupes)

  • Average Wrap Needed: 60-65 feet (18-20 meters)
  • Wrap Width: 5 feet (1.52 meters) wide.

3. Large Cars and SUVs

  • Average Wrap Needed: 70-75 feet (21-23 meters)
  • Wrap Width: 5 feet (1.52 meters) wide.

4. Trucks and Vans

  • Average Wrap Needed: 80-90 feet (24-27 meters)
  • Wrap Width: 5 feet (1.52 meters) wide.

5. Partial Wraps

  • Hood Only: 10-15 feet (3-4.5 meters)
  • Roof Only: 15-20 feet (4.5-6 meters)
  • Trunk Only: 10-15 feet (3-4.5 meters)
  • Side Panels: 30-40 feet (9-12 meters) for both sides

Note: Always order a little extra wrap to account for mistakes or tricky areas like bumpers and mirrors.

If you need more precise calculations, measure the length, width, and height of your car’s surfaces that you plan to wrap.
